What is an Icon treatment?

What’s involved in an Icon treatment?

Your Hawaii Vision Specialists provider uses a handheld device to send small but powerful laser pulses deep below your skin’s surface. The target area is your skin's basic support network, which is made of collagen and elastin.

When the light pulses move into your skin's support tissues, your body perceives it as an invader and thus starts a natural healing response. Your body's healing response includes shedding damaged skin cells and producing new collagen and elastin. The collagen adds volume to your skin, filling in lines and wrinkles, while the elastin makes skin tighter and more elastic.

When will I see results after an Icon treatment?

Skin pigmentation, like age spots, will start to flake off in the first couple of weeks after treatment. Your fine lines and deep folds will go away gradually as your body produces new collagen and elastin. You may see gradual improvement for up to six months after treatment.

How many Icon sessions do I need?

Every patient is different, so you'll plan your sessions based on your particular needs and goals. Many patients get great results with just one Icon treatment.
